Identification Expert – Role Overview

At Rasmus Auctions, the Identification Expert plays a critical role in preparing assets for sale by ensuring they are accurately documented, visually presented, and described in a clear and compelling manner. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in dynamic, on-site environments across various locations.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Travel to auction sites to conduct on-location assessments of assets.
  • Photograph items with attention to lighting, clarity, and detail to best represent them online.
  • Measure, weigh, and thoroughly inspect items for condition, noting any defects or special features.
  • Write accurate, concise, and appealing descriptions that help potential buyers understand what they’re bidding on.
  • Work within scheduled timelines to prepare auctions for launch, coordinating with other team members to ensure consistency and completeness.
  • Use company systems and tools to upload content and organize items by lot numbers, categories, and removal schedules.

Success in This Role Requires:

  • Strong observational and communication skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated approach to managing deadlines and logistics.
  • Physical ability to be on your feet for extended periods and navigate varied environments (warehouses, offices, restaurants, etc.).
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
